Have you had a problem with urination?

"Urodynamic examination" can help you find out why.

By: Ji’an Central People’s Hospital

Do you have the following problems with urinating?

Such as, difficult urinating, urine stream thinning, long waiting time of urinating ?

Frequent night trips, urgent urinating, even leakage?

Difficult urinating after surgery?

These symptoms may indicate abnormal bladder or urethra function.

When no clear cause can be found after routine examination, a urodynamic examination is needed.

In order to better strengthen the promotion of urology development, our urology department has installed a URODYNAMICS SYSTEM to help you "find out the causes", to say goodbye to the unspeakable problems!

What is urodynamic examination?

Urodynamic examination is based on the basic principles and methods of urodynamic mechanics and electrophysiology, using urodynamic analyzer to detect the pressure, flow rate and bioelectric activity of each part of the urinary tract, so as to understand the function and mechanism of urine excretion in the urinary tract, as well as the pathophysiological changes of urinary dysfunction diseases.

Urinary dynamics examination can understand the whole process of urine storage and urination, and can explore the causes of urinary dysfunction. It is recognized as the "gold standard" for diagnosing urinary dysfunction diseases.

Indications:

  1. Patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia and urinary incontinence (stress/incontinence);
  2. Neurogenic bladder (such as spinal cord injury, diabetic neuropathy);
  3. Recurrent urinary tract infection or difficulty in urination, waiting for urine, frequent urination at night, and other unknown reasons;
  4. Assessment of urinary function after urological surgery;

Precautions before examination

⚠ Empty your bowels before the examination and wear loose clothing;

⚠ If there is a urinary tract infection, inform in advance and check after cure;

⚠ There is no need to fast before the test, you can eat normally.
